What’s your weekly share?

We offer a small and a big membership. The small membership is ideal if you do not always want to cook but enjoy healthy mainly options in your diet and at the same time like the idea of joining a farm membership. Every family is different but we think that the small membership is enough for a couple of a family of 3. Choose the big membership if you know that in a week your household can easily consume a 1,2 kg of bread, 2 liters of milk, a dozen eggs, a box of fresh veg and fruit (and then we haven´t even talked about the extras). Again our habits differ but we think this share is enough for a family of 4. The weekly share includes: Vegetables and herbs grown with no-dig methods and without pesticides from our garden and underground greenhouse. We aim to provide 4-6 types of vegetables each week, depending on the season. In spring: radishes, spring onions, peas, spinach, sorrel, kale, rucola... In summer: varieties of salads, new potatoes, paprikas, tomatoes, rhubarb, courgette, onions, eggplant, beans, celery, cucumbers... Late summer: beats, corn, beans, chilies plus everything that you had in the summer too In autumn and late autumn until the last box: variesties of pumpkins, celery root, koolrabi, carrots, cabbages, kale, spinach, turnips, sage, rosmary) and in all the eason there might be some surprises of more special vegetables that we are trying in the garden and our soil.  Spices and fresh herbs: coriander leaves and seeds, mustard seeds, caraway seeds,  bayleaves, basil, thuyme, mint, parsley, lemongrass, dill, celery, lovage, oregano, marjoram, rosmary,  Seasonal foraged products, such as wild dried and fresh mushrooms like  poricinis, parasols, honey mushrooms, chanterells etc  (checked by our certified mushroom expert), rose hips, wild thyme, horse radish, nettles, wild spinach, porcin, elderflowers, blackthorn  Seasonal fresh fruits from the farm: plums, apples, pears, berries, grapes, quince Dried and fermented fruits, after the season ends One homemade drink (1 liter), such as seasonal kombucha, wild sodas, homemade syrup One fermented or preserved product, such as jams, vinegars, chutneys, sauces, misos, pickles, kimchi Sourdough bread (600g or 1 kg) from local microbakery Gergely Zsuzsi in Szanda Dairy products from Maszlik Dairy in Szente: 1 or 2 liters of milk, yoghurt, butter, and cheese (smoked, young, old cheeses and cottage chese) 0,5 or 1 kg of honey per month from local beekeepers (always a different type like linden, wild flower, accacia or rape or sunflower honey) The farm is in its beginning stages but with your contribution from May, we plan to broaden what we share with you from October onwards.  From October, your weekly farm share will also contain one type of meat per week from our own-raised pigs/ducks/chickens, e.g., bacon, sausage, ham, smoked bones, duck meat, chicken meat, fat, stock From October: 6 or 12 eggs per week from our free-range hens Option to add extra currently available products to your box for an additional fee (orders must be placed by Monday 6:00 pm, additional payment before the next delivery). Why join?

We bring the contemporary peasant lifestyle to your door! Each box includes recipes to connect you with the land, the seasons, and the joy of seasonal cooking. Membership also gives you access to community events, workshops, and a 20% discount on all Terra Szanda experiences. By joining, you support regenerative farming, deepen your connection to food, and become part of a living community where urban and rural worlds meet. All of Terra Szanda´s produce has been grown on a living and healthy soil that we tend to year-round without the use of pesticides. We built our own compost system, we irrigate with rain water and our poultry grazes rotationally in our pasture and orchard.  Research shows that the health of the soil directly affects the health of the plants and animals that grow in it. The healthier our soil the more nutritious your food is.  You can read about this more in the following  books that form a foundation of what we do and believe in at Terra Szanda: - What your Food Ate: how to heal our land and reclaim our health by Anna Biklé and David Montgomery - For the Love of Soil by Nicole Masters What else is good to know about farm membership Small community, high quality, real connection We intentionally work with a small community. This allows us to offer services—some of which could even be considered a luxury—beyond simple home delivery, making the farm membership more personal and varied for you and for us as well. Our goal is to consistently provide high quality and to bring you joy week after week. This requires ongoing, two-way communication: we want to shape the experience together with you, based on your feedback. Weekly personalization You’ll have the opportunity to tailor your weekly share slightly to your own preferences. By replying to the “What’s coming this week?” email sent at the beginning of each week, you can let us know, for example: what kind of bread you’d like (spelt, multigrain, rye, sun-dried tomato, olive, etc.), what kind of cheese (smoked, aged, fresh, gomolya, cottage cheese), whether you prefer plain or fruit yogurt. If there’s a jam or fermented treat you’ve fallen in love with, you can also request that—subject to availability. Holidays and pauses If you’re traveling or away from home for a while, your share can be paused. Missed portions can be added to future deliveries upon request—because what’s yours is yours. We’ll of course coordinate in advance to make sure the extra amount fits comfortably into your routine and your fridge capacity. Please let us know about a pause at least one and a half weeks before the affected Thursday delivery—the earlier, the better, as it helps us plan. (Yes, we’re already preparing for the rapid multiplication of calendars and Excel sheets.) Laying hen adoption and naming We want you to truly feel part of farm life. As part of this, you’ll have the opportunity to adopt a laying hen—and even give her a name. The only question is whether you’ll eventually be able to tell them apart—but that’s part of the fun. Processed treats instead of excess fresh greens Our aim is not to overwhelm you with huge amounts of vegetables that make you think, “What do I do with all this?” only for half of it to end up forgotten in the fridge. (It’s happened to us too, we’re only human.) When leafy greens are abundant, we turn them into pestos and fermented delicacies. These are much easier to incorporate into everyday cooking and can be stored longer. A simple pesto pasta with Maszlik aged cheese, for example, can be a truly special experience. Relaxing at Terra Szanda Farm membership is about more than just your weekly share. In addition to community days, with prior arrangement you’re welcome to visit us, relax, explore the farm, and even lend a hand if you’d like. Company is always welcome—whether it’s shared work, conversation, or simply stepping away from the city and settling into the rhythm of the farm.

How it works

Your membership covers a corresponding share of the farm’s annual costs and helps Onno and Rozi continue their regenerative, contemporary-peasant farming. Your membership helps you connect to the land, the seasons, the origin of your food, and the community of human and non-human beings that make it all possible.  When joining we ask you to move beyond traditional consumer thinking, and not view your weekly share as a mere transaction but as a connection. We share the gifts of our land and environment with you so you can eat healthy, seasonal food while supporting the people and beings who care for the land and contribute to regenerative food systems.  Your Terra Szanda farm membership ensures your place in this seasonal journey, bringing fresh, healthy food and a deeper connection to the people, animals, and land behind it.
